I offer traditional Reiki sessions in New Eltham as a complementary therapy, following the principles of Usui Reiki Ryoho (Usui Spiritual Energy Healing Method) as defined by Mikao Usui in 1922.

I welcome clients from New Eltham, Mottingham, Eltham, Sidcup, Chislehurst and the surrounding areas.

Why choose Be Surprised by Reiki?

I want you to be completely satisfied with the benefits you receive from your Reiki session. For that reason, I only ask for payment if, within a few days of your session, you feel that you have experienced a benefit.

If you do notice a benefit, you can make payment by bank transfer (BACS) or in cash at your next appointment.

My fee is currently £30 for a one-hour Reiki session, around half the fee charged by many Reiki practitioners. This is an introductory rate while I establish my practice in New Eltham and build my client base. It should not be taken as a reflection of the value I place on my work, but as an opportunity for new clients to experience Reiki at an affordable cost.

The benefits of Reiki are often dose-dependent, with the effects building over a series of sessions. As a result, several sessions may be needed to achieve the desired outcome.
Keeping my fees affordable makes it easier for clients to continue treatment without significant financial expense.

My approach to Reiki

Reiki, short for Usui Reiki Ryoho, was developed by Mikao Usui, who saw it as a path to spiritual development. Many Reiki practitioners and recipients continue to understand Reiki in spiritual terms, and I respect those perspectives.

My own interest in Reiki is centred more on emotional and physical wellbeing. Those are the benefits that first attracted me to Reiki and ultimately led me to become a Reiki practitioner.

People have different views on what Reiki energy is and how Reiki works. Some see it as a spiritual or universal life force. My own interpretation has been influenced by the work of James L. Oschman, who proposed a possible connection between Reiki and the Earth's magnetic field.

Whatever view someone takes, my focus is on helping people experience the benefits of Reiki for emotional and physical wellbeing in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Treatment room

I currently provide Reiki treatments in my living room. As our family rarely uses the room, it offers a quiet, comfortable and private space for sessions.

I am also happy to travel to your home, provided it is within a one-hour journey by public transport from my home. Sessions usually last around one hour and can be arranged at a time that is convenient for you.

I also offer distance Reiki sessions. Although many people are initially surprised by the idea, recipients often report experiences similar to those of in-person sessions.

Certifications

I have the necessary certifications to practice to the public, I'm part of the Reiki guild and fully insured.
